The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) has produced a video with the help of the Nebraska Soybean Promotional Council, Massachusetts Energy Marketers and Connecticut Energy Marketers Association to demonstrate the benefits of computerized blending of fuels. This can be used for biodiesel, heating oil, diesel fuel or a combination of all three instead of splash blending. Although the most popular and widely used option is splash blending (manually pouring products together), computerized blending of fuels takes the guesswork out of the equation, leaving the blending aspect up to an accurate computer. This in turn helps drivers eliminate error when blending two or three fuels together. While computerized blending is not mandatory, it is recommended because the accuracy and precision is much higher than manually blending fuels.
